Staring Out The Window

By , December 31, 2011

Anthropomorphism at it’s finest.

I stumbled upon these today and was delighted with the music and the video.

Lyrics
Staring out the window
I’m thinking about my days
Things I done right
The wrong of my ways
Gone down on my knees
Genuflected and prayed
That I might learn
From mistakes that I’ve made

We take the bus
We take the train
We go by car
We go by plane
We’re riding overnight
Going god knows where
God knows what we’ll find
God knows when we’ll get there

Staring out the window
And I’m thinking about my life
Thinking about my future
Like where I’ll be when I meet my wife
And when I die
Will it be by old age or by knife
Will it be peaceful
Or will it be by hardship and strife

We take the bus
We take the train
We go by car
We go by plane
We’re riding overnight
Going god knows where
God knows what we’ll find
God knows when we’ll get there

But I’m bringing my camera
And I will photograph
Every building
On every street
Every meal
At every rest stop
Each and every single person we meet

We take the bus
We take the train
We go by car
We go by plane
We’re riding overnight
Going god knows where
God knows what we’ll find
God knows when we’ll get there

I found this very moving, and thought that the use of the hands in the video was brilliant.

Enjoy

Musical Instruments

Though I have very little¬†talent, I’ve enjoyed dabbling in music with different instruments through the years. ¬†I love all sorts of home made noisemakers, drums, ¬†flutes etc. ¬†I’ve tried my hand at making quite a few different instruments in the past as well. ¬† A great site for learning about various kinds of instruments is Lark In the Morning. ¬† Just looking around can inspire creativity.

I believe everyone should have at least one item that helps them express themselves musically. ¬† I’ve been blessed with being surrounded by many talented musicians, and doubly blessed by watching untrained musicians pick up a new instrument and try it out. ¬† ¬†We are never to young or too old to enjoy the wonderful joy that is musical expression.

Years ago I came across an amazing resource for musical instruments. ¬†It’s¬†

They have all sorts of instruments and a wonderfully informative catalog.   Everything from musical saws to accordians and string, wind and percussion instruments from all over the world.  Also some great kits for various instruments.   Give yourself a treat and explore their site.

Oh, and make some noise !
