The more I listen to this band, the more I love them.  Seriously versatile and changing and alive.

I recently went to the bands website for the first time.  I  was delighted by their tag line:

– Music for the Freethinking Mystic in all of us!

 I resemble that remark.  🙂

Aparently  there has been a name change.  GaiaConsort is now  BONE POETS ORCHESTRA

Anyway, they’ve posted all the music and lyrics (6 albums )  so for more, check them out

MUSIC & LYRICS

We’ve put just about all the tunes up in their entirety here in mp3 format. The music is meant to be shared, not bottled up where only a few can hear it! …

via Gaia Consort – Music for the Freethinking Mystic in all of us!.

I had gone looking for the lyrics to Gathering.  From the album Gaia Circles.  I’m especially fond of the last part of the song.

 Gathering

From the East and in-breath of dawn
From the South, where fire is born
From the West, where the water is rising
From the North, where Gaia calls home
We have come to offer our story
We have come to open the well
It is balance we’re seeking in all things
We have come to offer our selvesSalmon in the streambed, Raven in the sky
Will you be the voice of Gaia?
Willow in the marsh grass, Redwing fly
Will you be the voice of the worldLizard on the rock face, tongue flick air
Will you be the voice of Gaia?
Heron on the tideflat, Great Brown Bear
Will you be the voice of the world?Building up a bonfire – calling back the light
Calling up a green man – WE ARE GATHERING
Calling up a storm cloud -calling back the light
Calling up a horned one – WE ARE GATHERINGHere – nowThe light on the leaves which brings flesh to the bone
which makes possible love and the dancing allowed
The salt in the sea & the sunlight reflected
like jewels in the mist that the forest will breath
The brush of the skin against skin and the nerve
that will carry the song to the tongue and the mind
The air in my lungs that feeds the fire in my blood
that brings the life to my heart and my reason for beingBuilding up a bonfire – calling back the light
Calling up a green man – WE ARE GATHERING
Calling up a storm cloud -calling back the light
Calling up a horned one – WE ARE GATHERING

We have come to be part of a healing
We have come to celebrate life
As we wake her, Gaia she’s dreaming
We have come to call back the light

Salmon in the streambed, Raven in the sky
Will you be the voice of Gaia?
Willow in the marsh grass, Redwing fly
Will you be the voice of the world

Lizard on the rock face, tongue flick air
Will you be the voice of Gaia?
Heron on the tideflat, Great Brown Bear
Will you be the voice of the world?

Building up a bonfire – calling back the light
Calling up a green man – WE ARE GATHERING
Calling up a storm cloud -calling back the light
Calling up a horned one – WE ARE GATHERING

Calling up a whirlwind – calling back the light
Calling up a Wild Thing – WE ARE GATHERING
Lovers in the Dark Moon – calling back the light
Calling up an Oak King – WE ARE GATHERING

Dance, My Children, Dance

Roll of Thunder

I call the earth, the fire, the wind and rain

Dance my children dance

To guide you on this mortal plane

While you, dance children dance

I made the ground soft beneath your feet

So you could, dance children dance

And the fire to bathe you with it’s heat

While you, dance children dance

I made the rain to fall to cool you down

While you, dance children dance

And the wind to blow you dry again

While you, dance children dance

I made the sun by day and the moon at night

So you could, dance children dance

So you’re always in my loving light

While you, dance children dance

And you dance with the

Sun and the moon and the wind and the rain

And you dance with the earth and you dance with the flame

And you dance with the stars in the velvet sky

All things dance in the circle of life

So I call you to my circle now

Dance my children dance

In peace and love and togetherness

May you, dance children dance

Always, dance children dance

I call the earth, the fire, the wind and rain

Dance my children dance

To guide you on this mortal plane

While you, dance children dance

I made the ground soft beneath your feet

So you could, dance children dance

And the fire to bathe you with it’s heat

While you, dance children dance

I made the rain to fall to cool you down

While you, dance children dance

And the wind to blow you dry again

While you, dance children dance

I made the sun by day and the moon at night

So you could, dance children dance

So you’re always in my loving light

While you, dance children dance

And you dance with the

Sun and the moon and the wind and the rain

And you dance with the earth and you dance with the flame

And you dance with the stars in the velvet sky

All things dance in the circle of life

So I call you to my circle now

Dance my children dance

In peace and love and togetherness

May you, dance children dance

Always, dance children dance

All things dance, children dance

All My Relations

A Thousand Roads

[Original Soundtrack]

Music by Lisa Gerrard,  & Jeff Rona

To our elders who teach us of our creation and of our past so that we may
preserve it for ancestors yet to comeThis is dedicated to our relatives before us, thousands of years agoAnd to the 150 million who were exterminated across the Western
Hemisphere in the first four hundred year’s time, starting in 1492To those who have kept their homelandsAnd to the nations extinct due to mass slaughter, slavery, deportation
and disease unknown to themAnd to the ones who are subjected to the same treatment todayTo those who survived the relocationsAnd those who died along the wayTo those who carry on traditions and live strong among their peopleTo those who left their communities by force or by choice and through
generations no longer know who they areTo those who search and never findTo those who turn away the so-called “non-accepted”To those who bring us togetherAnd to those living outside, keeping touch, the voice for manyTo those that make it back to live and fight the struggles of their
peopleTo those that give upAnd those who do not careTo those who abuse themselves and othersAnd those who revive againTo those who are physically, mentally, or spiritually incapable, by
accident or by birthTo those who seek strength in our spirituality and way of life

To those who exploit it

– even our own

To those who fall for the lies and join the dividing lines that keep us
fighting amongst each other

To the outsiders who step in

– good or bad

And those of us who don’t know better

To the leaders and prisoners of war, politics, crime, race and religion

– innocent or guilty

To the young

The old

The living

And the dead

To our brothers and sisters in all living things across Mother Earth
and her beauty we’ve destroyed and denied the honour that the Creator
has given each individual:

The truth that lies in our hearts

All my relations

I heard this for the first time this morning on paganradio.net

Deep breathe in and an “mmmsigh” out.   Give her a minute, the song picks up.

Fairies Stole My Keys

I woke up Monday morning,

a very special day

I had myself an interview —

honest work for honest pay

I walked to my Toyota,

as handsome as you please

and found within to my chagrin

the fairies stole my keys!

I’d seen them in the kitchen,

and all around the floor

They kept a nice apartment

just behind the kitchen door

I thundered and I rumbled,

I ranted and I screamed

I swear I heard their laughter

when the fairies stole my keys

(chorus)

Never try to tell me that fairies don’t exist

I’ve seen them in the forest

and playing in the mist

And if you disrespect them,

they’ll bring you to your knees

I swear I learned my lesson

when the fairies stole my keys

I left them on the table

like every other day

There’s plenty other shiny things

that they could take away

Why must they mess with my success

and threaten my career

And when I listen closely,

what’s that jingle that I hear?

I left them cream and butter,

I left them copper too

I left them gold and silver,

but they never fixed my shoes

No matter how I begged them,

they just ignored my pleas

No mercy from the Little Folk,

the fairies stole my keys!

(chorus)

I guess I really owe them one,

I never got the job

I started playing music

in the coffeeshops and pubs

I’ve travelled all around the world

and lived a life of ease

Since one time, for a little while,

the fairies stole my keys!

(chorus)
